Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Prince George County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained so that we can respond. We keep the message within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive basic technical information when a page loads:

  • Page-view dates, times, and duration
  • Your device's assigned IP address
  • Operating system and device category
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages viewed during the visit
  • The referring site, when one is available

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into broader performance reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
  • Maintaining reliable operation and page speed
  • Routing searches to the selected partner service
  • Measuring which resources visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We neither maintain nor sell a database of personal criminal records. Prince George County guidance points to the actual custodians, including county police, court clerks, Riverside Regional Jail, the Virginia Department of State Police CCRE, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a criminal-history file about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each partner controls its own retention, processing, and disclosure practices, so review those terms before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Prince George County offices, Virginia court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave, the destination's own privacy terms govern. Review them before providing personal information.

Some advertising companies may use cross-site activity to select ads. That processing occurs through their systems.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing queries sent to their tools
  • Advertising networks serving page content
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

We use customary safeguards for information in our control. No Internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security, so a breach-free result cannot be promised.

Users Under 18

The resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If such information is identified, we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide rights over personal data. Virginia public records are governed by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Va. Code §§2.2-3700 et seq., while dissemination of state criminal-history information is separately controlled by Va. Code §19.2-389. Those laws govern government records, not a right to alter a court or CCRE record through this private site. For information in our possession, you may:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
  • Seek deletion where applicable
  • Opt out of processing where the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A changed version will be posted here with a new effective date, and the posted text will control future use.
